Lt. Col. James H. Doolittle confers with Capt. Marc A. Mitscher on the bomber-laden deck of the USS Hornet as the fateful day of 18 April 1942 approaches. This daring bombing raid on Japan gave America and its allies a badly-needed morale boost in the wake of the destruction at Pearl Harbor.
Each copy has been endorsed and authenticated by the artist, together with the signatures of FIVE original Doolittle Raiders.
* Note: This is not the original publication. Originally published in 1994 in order to raise funds for a military museum, artist John Shaw retained the rights to issue in the future an Artist Only signed edition. From these the Military Gallery, in full co-operation with the artist, has now issued and released this new Doolittle Raiders Publisher's Proof Edition.
