Situation: Looking for targets of opportunity near Rabaul in the Solomon Islands, 1944, the legendary Major Greg “Pappy” Boyington (in foreground - #883) and other Marine Corps fighter pilots from the famous VMF-214 Black Sheep Squadron, scan the skies in their Vought F4U Corsairs. The famed Black Sheep pilots owned the skies in the Western Pacific.
