The British Aerospace Jetstream (BAE-31A) is a small twin-turboprop airliner, with a pressurized fuselage. The BAE-31 was developed from the earlier Handley Page Jetstream; the new version was re-engine and the new engines offered more power and longer overhaul intervals. The new version proved to be as popular as the Handley Page model, and several hundred 31s were built during the 1980s. Although not still in production, some still remain in service today. This specific model is painted in the American Eagle paint scheme. American Eagle Airlines is a certificated air carrier based in Fort Worth, TX. American Eagle is considered to be the world's largest regional airline system; they operate over 1,800 flights a day and serve 159 cities across the USA, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.
