  • Max Ostermann was a 102-victory ace. He was originally assigned to Zerstörergeschwader (ZG) 1, which was equipped with Messerschmitt Bf 110s, but the group commander noted Ostermann was too small to fly the large twin-engine fighter-bomber and transferred him to JG 21, which flew Bf 109s.

    In this scene, Ostermann claims a Polikarpov I-15 in January 1942 while escorting Stuka dive-bombers to and from a target in Soviet territory.
