Co-signed by six pilots of the Volunteer Group (AVG) - Flying Tigers
Our second release in a series of four tributes to the AVG, this lithograph is our tribute to the AVG's Second Pursuit Squadron. The scene depicts a ground attack mission flown on January 3, 1942. Three AVG Panda Bears arrived right over a Japanese airfield minutes after the Japanese fighters were returning from an early raid. A ceremony was taking place, but the AVG certainly spoiled the party. Each limited edition is co-signed by six surviving pilots from the AVG's 2nd Pursuit Squadron, including Tex Hill, who flew on the mission depicted in Stan's dramatic painting.
