The twilight two-gunship memorial flight of an AC-130H "Spectre" and an AC-47 "Spooky" (military attack gunship versions of the C-130 and DC-3 respectively) depicted in "Bloodline" salutes the heroism of past and present airmen, the tradition of military service that passes from father to son, and the evolution through time of one of America's most distinguished special operations aircraft - the side-firing gunship. The AC-130H is still a present day Air Commando (AFSOC) aircraft. The gunship's primary missions are close air support, air interdiction and force protection. Missions in close air support are troops in contact, convoy escort and urban operations. Air interdiction missions are conducted against preplanned targets or targets of opportunity. Force protection missions include air base defense and facilities defense.
