Bancroft Hall, the dormitory for the USNA Brigade, is named in honor of George Bancroft, Secretary of the Navy from 1845 - 1846, and founder of the United States Naval Academy. This complex is the heart of the Naval Academy, encompassing thirty-three acres of floor space and 4.8 miles of corridors. Within the home of the Brigade are twenty rooms dedicated to the Medal of Honor recipients who were recognized for the valor in WWII, Korea and Vietnam.
