  • The 82nd Airborne Division began the jump into Normandy early in the morning of 6 June 1944. In the town of Sainte-Mere-Eglise, many paratroopers descended into the middle of the town square where they were immediately set upon by German troops. Those who were not killed, engaged the enemy and attempted to take the town. It would not be until later in the morning that 82nd Airborne Division reinforcements would secure Sainte-Mere-Eglise and continue to take the fight to the Germans. On the 75th Anniversary of the Invasion remember what those brave soldiers accomplished with this commemorative print.
