    • As a young boy, David Gray and his friends would ride their bikes to nearby Bakalar AFB. The base had recently closed and the Air Force left behind this derelict Fairchild C-119 Boxcar. Although no longer useful as a tactical cargo aircraft, this old hulk helped inspire the dreams of a young boy and led him into his own 40-year aviation career. Sadly, the aircraft was scrapped in the summer of 1974. David pays tribute to this old warrior in his latest painting entitled “The Clubhouse”.
