Legendary bush pilot Joe Crosson is shown flying past Mount McKinley in 1932 in the Alaskan Airways Stearman C-3B, N-5415. Crosson became a national hero flying mercy missions in the North, which included finding the crash site of Carl Ben Eielson in Siberia, and a flight to Barrow in bitterly cold conditions that saved the village from an outbreak of diphtheria.
