Dawn Operations, Abraham Lincoln Style by Rick Herter

The mighty U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln, CVN-72, steams into a new day of operations. The ship that never sleeps is already recovering and launching aircraft into the rising sun. If you look closely you'll notice a variety of aircraft on deck. An F-14 Tomcat from VF-31 on one of her last Lincoln deployments is parked near the fantail while the distinctive shape of an EA-6B Prowler is also on deck. An F-18 Hornet is on approach and if you have a sharp eye, you'll see the afterburners of another Hornet about to be launched.

This painting hopes to honor all who serve aboard mighty aircraft carriers like the Lincoln and hopefully it will also serve as a reminder of the round the clock dedication of our troops at sea.
