'Bout to Happen by Darby Perrin

This is a formation of B-24 “Liberator” bombers from the 453rd Bomb Group, led by B-24J-20-FO 44-48816, nicknamed “Ginnie”. Anticipating that the weather above the target will clear, a 2nd and maybe even a 3rd attempt will be made to drop on the target. All the while, these brave crews were contending with flak, enemy fighters and bitter cold.
