Lieutenant Colonel Wayne Blickenstaff in his P-51D along with his wingman, escorts a flight of B-17’s following a successful strike late in the war.

“It’s late 1944,” Phillips explains. “It’s been a long day and a long mission, but soon the fighters will return to base for debriefing and rest. I wanted to get that across with just the light and color.” We think that he succeeded.
