Painted under commission by the 3rd Battalion 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, this beautiful image memorializes the Navy SEALs and Night Stalkers lost on board when their MH-47D Chinook was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) at point blank range while on a mission to rescue four fellow SEALs who were ambushed in the Hindu Kush mountain range near the Afghanistan/Pakistan border on 28 June 2005. All 16 men onboard were killed.
